Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary

Nestled in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, the Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary offers a unique and heartwarming experience. Formerly a traditional farm, this sanctuary now provides a crucial refuge for numerous unwanted animals, with a particular focus on primates like chimpanzees, baboons, spider monkeys, capuchins, and marmosets. Their clear prioritisation of the residents' well-being deeply resonated with me.

We found the Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary to be exactly as described – a true refuge for primates with difficult pasts. Our family visit was surprisingly calm and welcoming, an inspiring testament to the dedicated work in creating such a peaceful haven for these animals.

Many of the precious primates here were rescued from the cruelty of illegal trafficking or the confines of private collections. Knowing that this sanctuary offered them a second chance, a safe and loving home where otherwise they might have perished, made our visit deeply moving.

The sanctuary's commitment to ethical treatment and animal welfare is evident in every aspect of its operation. It's a place where you can connect with these intelligent and fascinating creatures while supporting a crucial cause. If you're looking for an authentic and impactful experience, I highly recommend a visit to the Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary.
