Less Choice, More Creativity
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”
Well, here we are. Easter weekend is upon us already. Life is like riding a bicycle: to keep your balance, you must keep moving. I hope you all have a great weekend with family and friends and a successful egg hunt.
As most of you know, I have now re-imagined my website with a new direction. To do it, I set strict constraints: a tiny budget, repurposed materials and a workflow I could manage alone. I love the word resourceful.
How do constraints lead to greater creativity?
They stop you from overthinking. Instead of being stuck with too many options, limits give you a place to start. They force you to try new things and find skills you didn't know you had.
Take my latest event. By sticking to a minimalist rule, I stripped away the clutter and focused on the atmosphere using only what I had to hand. The result was stunning and unique. Without those limits, it would have been just another generic event. Because of them, it actually worked.
Stress does not have to run the show. This month, lean into self-regulation and teamwork. These are strengths that help you slow down and move through hard moments without losing yourself. Small daily practices build a calmer, more connected you.
